Hi!

Did you know that you can try out a paid app on the Google Play Store for free for 15 minutes? Here is how to do it:

  • Buy an Android app on the Google Play Store and play or use it for less than 15 minutes.
  • Before the time has run out, go back to Google Play.
  • Press the Menu button and choose My Apps.
  • Scroll down and select the app in question.
  • Select Uninstall and Refund. If you haven’t even installed the app yet, you’ll only get the Refund option.

You can also get a refund within 48 hours if the app doesn't include a preview, such as wallpaper and ringtone apps.

  • Go to your Google Play account on your PC/Mac. (https://play.google.com/store/account)
  • Under the Options for the individual item you want refunded, click Report a problem
  • Select I’d like to request a refund from the options

Have you ever done this before? I think it's pretty cool! :$

Thanks Mary, sry for the lame question - what do you mean by "it doesn't include a preview" for the 48h refund? Do you mean it doesn't have a linked video?

So with some apps, like ringtones, you can't hear a preview of what ringtone sounds like from the google play store. It's like you are buying something without any idea of what it is! So with purchases like this you have up to 48 hours to get a refund. :)

Don't worry, Google won't block your account. You can't steal the apps.

Thank you very much for having shared with us your knowledge and your experience!

But does this solution still function, or has Google changed the system in these months?

I think, there is no option available to use paid applications free of cost but you can use first 30 days free trial edition with demo edition.

It will work because Google always support end-user.
But if you are a developer, you worked so hard to create an App, you will feel horrible when getting in this situation

Wow, usually there is a free version to try the app before you pay for it. I use the free version till the end. When I have to pay, I choose other apps(laughing)

I know that it works. Besides, you can always download the paid application and use it for a day or two (it works not with all apps). Then, you have to delete it, clean cookies, and get the app (from another IP) again. Meanwhile, this system is boring.
